Fortunate enough to have had an oportunity to spend a weekend at the beautiful and luxurious Port Ferdinand in St Peter and WOW - it is the business!

Apartment 503 is a well laid out spacious three bedroom three bathroom apartment overlooking the marina of Port Ferdinand.  From the moment we entered we were taken with the beautiful decor and the tropical feel to the place.  With a choice of three bedrooms, all ensuite, it was pretty hard to pick one.  We finally settled on the west bedroom where we had a view of the marina from our plush pillow topped bed resplendant with the plump plilows and duvet all with the turtle logo embroidered on the linens.  Large flat screen TV with internet channels meant that we could watch a movie before bedtime.  The large ensuite bathroom has a tub and a huge (I do mean huge) wet shower opposite the tub with a fabulous rain head shower - could have spent hours under that!  Molton Brown products at every turn, by the shower, by the tub and two sets by the double sink vanity.  Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body cream, face soap, body soap and a loofah. They have thought of everything - sewing kit, extra razor, nail file, hairdryer, bathrobes, - this is bathroom amenity heaven!

From our bedroom we have the large open plan living room and kitchen with state of the art appliances and huge glass sliding doors so the view is everywhere.  Another large TV, plush sofa and arm chairs so plenty of seating here.  The kitchen has everything you could every need for a simple meal or a gourmet feast.  The very thoughful touch - on opening the fridge there was a welcome platter of selected cheeses, grapes and crackers and another plate with hummus, pita bread chips and marinated olives - it was all delicious and much appreciated.  Bottles of still and sparkling water and milk for our coffee.  Great coffee machine with a large selection of pods both for coffee and tea making!

The large balcony had a large dining table for 6 and a very comfy couch and arm chairs - perfect for Sunday morning, catching up with the news on the iPad and reading a good book.  With the sliding doors thrown open the place is huge and the never ending views makes it even better.

The other two bedrooms located closer to the entrance were spacious with ensuite bathrooms and walk in closets.

The facilities on site include a state of the art fitness room, a youth club indoors and outdoors, an adult recreation centre with games room and a golf simulator, spa and hair salon.   There is a large swimming pool by the Quarterdeck complete with bubbles and jet for a soothing soak while sipping a fruity cocktail.  Something for everyone.  Several restaurant options including Relish Dockside gourmet store and deli, the Gazebo Bar and Grill, The Quarterdeck Bar and Pizzeria and of course the new 13/59 restaurant.  We sampled the pizzas and had a few glasses of wine at the Quarterdeck and the pizzas were just how we like them, thin crust and tasty.  The service is friendly and relaxing.

We had the Sunday brunch at 13/59 and the menu is innovative and delicious.  The lobster and grits is divine, the ceviche was perfect and the caramel cheesecake smooth and delicious.  Roz was on hand and came out and explained the menu, made recommendations and ensured that we all enjoyed our meal.  If you want to experience some different food parings this is the place to be.

Monday morning blues took on a whole new meaning when we had to finally pack up and go - thank you Port Ferdinand for a weekend to remember.  Now we are looking forward to the party on New Year's Eve - if last years' event is anything to go by, this 2015 will go out with a bang!  Check out Port Ferdinand at  - beautiful properties for sale.
