It’s Always Summer in Barbados

We’ve just had the climax of the Sweetest Summer Festival with the best Monday in the world – Kadooment Day; and as Barbados moves past the Crop Over season summer continues. The cooling tropical trade winds are in full effect this summer, so days on white sandy beaches are even more enjoyable than normal.

A Bajan Summer Awaits

Barbados is just settling back to normalcy after the annual motorsport frenzy that is FLOW King of the Hill and SOL Rally Barbados. Jeffrey Panton and Michael Fennel Jr. enjoyed another successful campaign as they claimed both crowns over the course of the two weekends. The Ford Focus WRC08 packing the punch needed to hold off all comers, including current WRC2 championship leader Elfyn Evans and Crag Parry in their Ford Fiesta R5 Evo.

A Champion Spirit Pervades the Caribbean

Barbados and the wider Caribbean are riding high off the back of an unprecedented 3 simultaneous ICC World Twenty20 cricket titles won recently in India by our Men, Women & Under 19 cricket teams. The underlying vibe across the region is one of Champions and underscored by the instant DJ Bravo hit soundtrack of the same name. This winning feeling and attitude means a lot to our proud people, and it translates into better interactions across all levels of business and social interaction.

What Would you do with a Week in Barbados?

The true beauty of a Barbados vacation is as much about the people you meet as the places you visit. Passing your time in Barbados is never an issue, with its true diversity of activities and vibrant night life, we thought we’d present you with a sample week of activities in March. Here’s one of many ways that we think you’d enjoy:

A Great Meal Can Make all the Difference

Is a delightful meal with your partner, friends, family your thing? Then Barbados has something to offer you at every level. One of the things which sets our island apart from the others in the Caribbean is our excellent restaurant stock. One of the memories which endures with many visitors is the availability of options for great meals.  Fine dining is represented along the platinum coast in abundance and is now making inroads into the other main tourism belt on the south coast.

The Animal Flower Cave

The Animal Flower Cave is one of the main attractions in Barbados.  Located at the northern most end of the island the Animal Flower Cave offers an incredible view of the rugged Atlantic side of the island and on occasion you might even spot a whale or two.

Daphnes Barbados Restaurant Review

After a weekend of work and needing a break we made an impromptu decision to go to Daphnes Barbados late Sunday afternoon.  Went online to check out their menu and opening hours and called them at 4.30 p.m. to see if we could come to the bar for a sundowner drink and have an early dinner.  I confirmed that the Summer Menu was available and we got the reservation for 6.30 p.m.

Nishi Restaurant in Barbados

Decided to surprise my youngest daughter with dinner at  Nishi Restaurant to celebrate her 15th birthday on 01 October 2014.  Luckily Nishi was reopening that night after several weeks of renovations and refurbishments so we were really looking forward to this evening to see all the changes.

Barbados Green Monkeys

Look at these creatures that popped into visit on Monday afternoon - the Barbados Green Monkeys living in our area of Durants Village, Holders Hill, St James.  The neighbour's mango tree was the attraction and they had quite a session raiding the tree.  These creatures are wild so you should always keep your distance however with a zoom lens on your camera you can capture these kind of moments when you are in Barbados.  The best place to see them would be at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, Welchman Hall Gully and Flower Forest to name a few.
