The 3rd Test series of cricket will now be held at The Kensington Oval in Barbados.  The Third Test was originally scheduled to be played at the Guyana National Stadium but was relocated following the Cricket Board and the Government of Guyana not being able to find a mutually agreeable resolution relating to the Cricket Administration Bill.  The first match of the test will be played at Sabina Park, Jamaica from 08 - 12 June with the second test being played at Sabina Park in Trinidad and Tobago from 16 - 20 June.
What this now means is that Barbados will be hosting the match for West Indies vs New Zealand and the dates are scheduled 26 - 30 June 2014 and will bring 5 days of enthralling cricket to our shores at a time when the island is relatively quiet in terms of visitor arrivals.  The boost for tourism sector is welcomed and we hope that many West Indian fans will come over to support the team.  For those following New Zealand - what a perfect time to come and visit Barbados.  While June is traditionally a slow month you will still find beautiful beaches, warm sunshine and cheaper accommodations.  While on island you have a full range of activities including catamaran cruises, aerial ziplining, submarine dives, snorkling, scuba diving, water skiing and the list goes on.
Barbados Villa Services and Glitter Bay Barbados are offering a 10% discount for cricket visitors so be sure and book your beachfront accommodation.  We are located 20 minutes away from Kensington and you have the best of both worlds.
