You are in Barbados and you are having such a relaxing time sitting on the beach, swimming with the turtles and having some fabulous meals at the local restaurants.  Well, why not mix things up a bit and take on a game of polo?  This exciting sport is a hot favourite among locals and visitors alike.

The Holders Polo Club is the home of polo and where it all began however there are now several others that showcase this fast paced game.  Apes Hill, Lion Castle, Clifton, Buttals all host games during the winter season and some of the leading international polo teams are featured right here in Barbados.

This week the Canada team are in town and the first game is at Holders on Wednesday 8th February, moving to Apes Hill on Friday 10th February and the grand finale is back at Holders on Sunday 12th February.  Each event starts at 3.30 p.m. with the main match at 4.30 p.m.  Entrance is BD$20.00 and children under 12 are free.  The club house will be a lively spot to take in the game but for those who wish to be closer to the action there is outside seating but always keep your eye on the field because the ball can go anywhere!  Full premium bar is available and the traditional tea and sandwiches and sweets are on sale.

If you are here for a polo match be sure and go see some of the action - well worth the experience!  Polo matches run from now until early May.
